Facial plastic surgery requires more specialized training, education and experience.  While all physicians have at least one year of post-graduate surgical training, facial plastic surgeons are required to complete one year of post-graduate general surgery training and four to six years of post-graduate, specialized training in head, neck and facial plastic surgery. Rhinoplasty surgery is a specialized area, which differs from other procedures of the face and neck.
